HPLC
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography
Research Use Only · Not for Human Consumption
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is an analytical technique that uses high pressure to force a liquid solvent (mobile phase) through a column packed with a stationary phase material. Different compounds in the sample interact with the stationary phase to different degrees, causing them to elute (exit) at different times. The resulting chromatogram shows peaks for each component; peak area determines percentage composition. In the peptide industry, reverse-phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) is the standard method for purity determination.
